How to Prepare and Perform Effective Presentations
15th and 16th April, 2010 Würzburg

A major prerequisite for successful international project managers today is their ability to perform powerful presentations in English. Project proposal, project schedule, critical situations in international projects: A well performed presentation often determines the success of a project. This seminar will be held in English. Participants are expected to speak English at an intermediate level. The objective of this program is not to speak English perfectly but to be able to get their ideas across the table successfully. The central objective of this seminar is to help international project managers produce optimum project results through powerful presentations.

The Trainer :

Mrs. Stilla Haake

 has been running project management seminars for four years, partly in English. For nine years, she worked in the R&D department of a medium-sized German company where numerous international projects were carried out. She holds a GPM-Certificate as a project management practitioner and is a Diplom-Wirtschaftsübersetzerin (FH), i.e. her main fields of studies were business and language studies.

Target Group:

International project managers and project staff with the challenge to give project presentations in an international environment.

SEMINAR DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES:

Good presentations are an important prerequisite for receiving project orders and for carrying out projects. It is a special challenge to be able to give these presentations in English. This seminar is related to practical issues and provides a training opportunity for project managers and project staff to fundamentally improve their presentation techniques. Through this seminar they will become more confident when dealing with English-speaking project partners and will gain a better understanding of intercultural aspects. Seminar participants will learn how to present project ideas and results in a structured and comprehensible way. They will experience the importance of interpersonal skills when presenting and will learn how to confidently deal with the challenges of an English project presentation in a multinational environment.

• Planning and preparing a project-related presentation
• Structure and "dramaturgy" of a presentation
• Intercultural aspects during a presentation
• Performing a presentation in English
• Describing and explaining diagrams and charts in English
• Useful English terms and phrases
• Question and discussion session after the presentation
• Eye contact and body language during the presentation
• Case study of an international project as basis for the practical exercises

Seminargebühren:

Die Teilnehmerzahl ist auf mindestens 6 und höchstens 10 Personen begrenzt.

Die Seminargebühr enthält die Seminardokumentation sowie Mittagessen und Pausengetränke. Bei Rücktritt (schriftlich) von der Anmeldung bis 4 Wochen vor der Veranstaltung (Eingang beim Veranstalter) sind Euro 150.-, danach ist die gesamte Seminargebühr fällig. Ein Ersatzteilnehmer kann jederzeit ohne Kosten gemeldet werden. Alle Beträge zuzgl. gültiger deutscher Mehrwertsteuer. Der Veranstalter behält sich nötigenfalls Änderungen im Seminarprogramm und bei den Referenten vor. Nicht in Anspruch genommene Leistungsteile werden nicht vergütet.
Der Veranstalter behält sich, z.B. bei mangelnder Anmeldezahl vor, die Veranstaltung bis 3 Wochen vor dem Seminartermin abzusagen. Es erfolgt dann sofortige Benachrichtigung und Rückerstattung bereits bezahlter Seminargebühren ohne Abzug. Jegliche weitergehenden Ansprüche, z.B. aus Reisebuchungen sind ausgeschlossen.
